It’s been three weeks since I posted my first piano video, and it’s time for another one. This time around I’m performing The Well-Tempered Clavier Book I, No. 2: Prelude & Fugue in C minor, BWV 847 by Johann Sebastian Bach. These are one of 48 different preludes and fugues found in the two volume set written in 1722, and they would have been performed on a harpsichord or clavichord.
I know I’ve told some friends that it would be a while before I got around to the classical composers, but I couldn’t help myself! 🙂 Bach happens to be one of my favorite composers. This particular Bach prelude and fugue happens to be one of the easier pair found in The Well-Tempered Clavier volumes. Even so, there are a few mistakes that snuck through. Out of kindness to my neighbors, however, I’m calling this one good enough.
I haven’t decided what’s next on my playlist. I’ve also been working on a Mendelssohn piece, but I refuse to record that until after the piano is tuned and voiced again. Maybe some Jazz standard arrangement, or another hymn arrangement.
