I graduated from high school in the mid 1980s. The following fall I began attending a local college studying music performance, specifically piano performance. Some time during that first year I wrote “Seasons”, my first original piano composition. I hadn’t named it at the time–that came later.
Whether it was a requirement for my degree or an elective, i don’t recall, but I joined the male chorus my freshman year. Part way through that first year a few of the guys decided they would like to form a quartet. As a group they would travel around and visit various churches in the area, representing the college.
The quartet was in need of a pianist so jumped at the chance. The group needed a name and came up with “Change of Seasons”. Not only that, I discovered I had also found a name for my piano composition.
Two years later I met my future wife. “Seasons” has always been one of her favorites, and I’ve played it for numerous occasions throughout the years. I’ve been blessed to have been married to her for 30 years, and I dedicate this song to her.

I remember being impressed with this from college days, and I still love it!
