After some consideration, I decided to record another series of short pieces by J. S. Bach. An appropriate follow up to the two-part inventions, I begin this week with Bach’s three-part sinfonias with Sinfonia 1 in C major BWV 787. Similar to the Inventions, each of the fifteen sinfonias were composed in a different key, and they alternate between major and minor. As they contain an extra voice, they are a bit more challenging than the inventions. I have not played most of these, and I’m looking forward to learning and recording them.
